Day One

Drove out to Sonora, about 3 hours, to pick up Pepper. Got introduced to her, and spent time playing on the couch as she got to know us. She was friendly, but not over hyper (for an 8 week old puppy!) Got some basic information, asked a bunch of questions, and hit the road! Pepper did great in the car, a little play time, sleep, went pee and poop (on the floor, on newspaper, being really careful about letting her outside until she’s vaccinated).

Tasty salted pig parts!

Boccalone is said to make some of the best cured/cooked pork in the Country. I finally made a trip to San Francisco to get some, and it lived up to it’s reputation. The Nduja, a spicy spreadable salame, was one of the best things I’ve eaten, the Cappicolo was delightful, and the Pancetta Piana was so delicate in flavor, just eating small slices on it’s own was a joy. They slice the meat transparently thin, so 4 oz goes a long way.

It's a new year and I'm refining my sharing philosophy

I spent 2008/2009 playing a lot with social networking, trying all the new sites that came along, looking at how people benefit, or don’t benefit from all the connection and sharing. I’ve decided to change what/how I share in 2010 based on this. A quote I read this morning from Brian Clark of copyblogger.com that summed it up neatly. "For me, there’s really no appeal in spending a lot of time creating “user-generated” content via a social networking application.
